Officials said 31 adults and 4 juveniles were arrested, and six police officers were hurt after several storefronts were vandalized and other properties were damaged in the waning hours of the Freddie Gray demonstrations.
“Groups of outside agitators led to small pockets of protesters engaged in criminal activity,” police said in a statement released Sunday. “The Baltimore Police Department believes that outside agitators continue to be the instigators behind acts of violence and destruction.”
Raw footage:
Freddie Gray passed away on April 19 after suffering a fatal spinal injury while in police custody. Authorities have not explained how or when Gray’s spine was injured. Police have said Gray should have received medical attention at the spot where he was arrested – before he was put inside a police transport van handcuffed and without a seat belt, a violation of the department’s policy.
