VIDEO: Two Officer Involved Shootings in Seattle

October 1, 2015

The Seattle Police Department released video from two separate officer involved shootings.  Both shootings occurred on September 29th in the early morning.

Officers were dispatched to the scene after a security guard at a downtown building reported that a man brandished a handgun and fled.

Two officers followed the suspect in their patrol car while they ordered him to drop his weapon and surrender.  The suspect did not comply.  One officer fired several times at the suspect, striking him in the hand.

Officers recovered the weapon, which turned out to be a pellet gun.  The picture below shows how realistic the pellet gun looks.1
Later in the morning, Seattle officers responded to a report of a car prowl in-progress.  The video shows the man repeatedly refusing to follow officers’ orders to drop the weapon.  A taser was used, but it was unable to subdue the suspect.
