According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Weber County dispatchers notified them of a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of I-15 near 31st St. shortly before 2 p.m. Monday. The driver, who UHP identified as 32-year-old Natalie Peterson, was seen driving in the right emergency lane. UHP reports Peterson failed to stop for troopers’ lights and sirens, and continued to drive in the wrong direction. At one point, a statement from UHP said, Peterson drove toward a trooper, who had to take evasive action to avoid Peterson’s vehicle.

Troopers say the suspect, Peterson sustained non life-threatening injuries in the car crash. They also say she was under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of Monday’s incident. Peterson is also on parole from the Utah State Prison, where she’ll likely be returned to after her hospitalization. Click here for more.
