DASHCAM: Georgia Officer Shoots Wanted Drug Trafficker

October 23, 2015

This video shows how quickly incidents escalate.

At about 11 a.m. last Wednesday Emerson Police Officer Robert K. Smith pulled over a vehicle on I-75 northbound to check on an expired tag.

The stop itself was uneventful. Officer Smith gets the man’s drivers license, goes back to his car, calls it in and finds out the driver is a man named Brent Andrew Brannon. Brannon is wanted on felony drugs and weapons charges.

Officer Smith calls for backup. He’s told backup is on the way. He then walks back to Brannon and engages him in conversation, then asks Brannon to get out, which Brannon refuses. Smith then yells: “Drop the gun!”
