DASHCAM: Oregon Deputy Saves Toddler from Highway

January 22, 2016

A toddler was rescued by Oregon police after he was spotted running down the middle of a highway.

Lincoln County Deputy Jeremy Gautney was stunned to see the 2-year-old suddenly appear in the road as cars drove past.

The little boy had sneaked away from his family who were desperately searching for him as he walked down Highway 101, reported KGW Portland.

Now, authorities have released the dashcam footage to serve as a warning for motorists who may be distracted while driving.

The video, posted on Facebook, is “for educational purposes and not intended to ridicule or question those involved,” said Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Curtis Landers.
